13x9 ft Retractable Pergola, Wood Grain Aluminum Pergola with Adjustable Canopy Roof

We have a nice sized deck, but it is virtually unusable in the summer heat. I’ve looked around for a couple years for something suitable, but a canopy or pergola can become extremely expensive very quickly. I had almost settled on an aluminum pergola on Lowes when I came across this one. It is definitely budget friendly. The retractable canopy convinced me to give it a go.
ASSEMBLY: It took me all morning to get it together. The only time I required any extra hands was in getting the support posts and first crossbeams together. I had my family, none of whom are over 5’1”, stabilize the posts while I climbed the step stool. Since it is made of aluminum, there were a couple instances of slight warping where pieces slot together. A little tug allowed them to slide together and once bolts were tightened, those issues resolved themselves. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I referenced them a lot. While it was time consuming, it wasn’t difficult.

Very good pergola for the price. At first, the wood looks real but it’s actually all metal which I’m ok with. I also really like the sliding shade.

I love the nice boost it gives my backyard! Seems very sturdy. My concern when ordering it was how it will handle high winds but now that I feel how sturdy it is, I'm confident it will stand strong and sturdy with the canopy tied closed. No parts were missing but a couple parts did have a few minor dents from shipping. No big deal.

The product was easy to assemble with easy to follow instructions. We had minor damage to a structural component. Customer support responded within one business day and offered several acceptable remedies.

I really like this pergola. It was, for the most part, easy to install. It definitely needs two people to install. I am pleased, so far, with the pergola. It is very good quality for the price.

Update - 8 months have passed since I purchased and installed this Pergola and it is still just as sturdy, clean and in great shape. I definitely keep it closed when it’s raining a lot and that helps. There is a little bit of mildew but once I kept it open in the sun, it actually went away. I’m sure a light cleaning would make it all go away. However, I am still very happy with my purchase. I might even buy another one for next to the pool!
